About San Pedro
The San Pedro campus is located
in a quiet, secure neighborhood, and is also close
to various places of interest for students such
as the University of Costa Rica campus. Also nearby
is the well-known San Pedro Mall and a variety of
restaurants, cinemas, banks, Internet cafes, and
other sites. It’s a 20 minute walk from downtown
San José and a short bus ride from our homestay
families. The location also provides easy access
to public transportation ranging from buses to taxis.
This would be an ideal place to study in a urban
environment.
About the School
Program
Spanish classes usually consist of 3 to 4 students,
never more than six. This intimate class size helps
us tailor the programs to your specific needs and
to adapt the teaching method to your learning style.
There are ten levels of instruction:
- Beginner I, II, III
- Intermediate I, II, III
- Advanced I, II, III,
- Specialized Technical classes (for Spanish for
teachers, Legal Spanish, Spanish for Business)
You will be placed in the appropriate group, according
to your Spanish proficiency level. This is determined
by an evaluation before starting your course. The
schedule is very flexible. The program offers the
opportunity to design your own schedule. You may
also choose to supplement group classes with additional
private lessons.
The instructors are native Spanish speakers, chosen
for their competence and friendliness. Each of them
has a degree in linguistics, literature or education;
with additional training and experience in language
teaching. Many have further expertise in areas such
as drama, philosophy, journalism, poetry and music.
All of these feature adds to the uniqueness of the
program.
