Chile has specific requirements. Because it’s an International experience, many of the companies working with the program will not provide any type of salary base or wages. Companies may be operated by either a government or private entity with requirements of 4 hours per day (Monday to Friday).
The program is designed to be half work experience and half cultural experience. Students sign up with Spanish for Success for assistance in Internship placement and lodging/housing. Students are required to take a minimum of three weeks of Spanish classes in order to be immersed into the working environment of Chile.
The Spanish experience will enhance the student’s language skills and enable them to better communicate with associated companies. If they’re fluent in Spanish, we can also assist with coordinating a program. There is also a requirement on amount of time needed per Internship which can range from 1-12 months.
While participating in an internship, students will be lodged either with a host family, apartment or shared flat. Students are also responsible for providing their own health and travel insurance during the duration of time they spend in the program.
For travel insurance try CSA:

Airfare will need to be purchased separately by the student.
What they will get in the program is:
A Spanish language education
Homestay in the first three weeks
Internship placement
apartments or shared flats
international work experience
company reference for Resumes or CV’s
Why Vina del Mar, Chile? Vina del Mar is a great location to be immersed into the community for cultural and work experience. Its famous temperate Mediterranean climate, pristine beaches, colorful topography of hills, city and sea, historic castles and palaces, a safe and secure environment and its intense culture and nightlife give an exceptional character to the city. Viña del Mar is also known as the tourist capital of Chile.
In comparison to other popular countries, i.e. Argentina, Peru and many others, Chile still holds a special place for travelers looking to visit someplace not bogged down by tourists. In contrast, here, you’ll be forced to speak more Spanish and making this an ideal location for serious prospective Spanish students.
Surrounding cities such as Valparaiso makes the experience even better. This city is known for showcasing the more “historical side” of Chile. It also offers captivating hill top views of artistic, colorful, rustic buildings, ocean breezes and a mixture of “mirador” (balconies or small towers affording an extensive view). In the day or night, it’s truly is something to see.
Chile hugs the coastline of the Pacific Ocean, and surrounds the neighboring countries of Argentina, Peru, and Bolivia. The country offers plenty of other activities from the ocean to the mountains.
Chile offers opportunities for adventure sport activities ranging from sports fishing, mountain biking, hiking, skiing, and many more all year long. When you come to Chile, spend time to explore and discover the peaks of the Andes and the ancient forest of the lake districts or perhaps spend a week touring the Southern parts of Chile and Patagonia. Eco-tourism in Chile is also a special experience.
